Eastwood Self-Etching Weld-Thru Primer combines the benefits of a weld-thru and the capabilities of a traditional self-etching primer. This unique self-etching primer formula has organic binders that replace conductive heavy metals such as copper and zinc. These organic binders will burn off during the welding process, leaving a corrosion-resistant self-etching primer for paint prep. This product will reduce spatter and distortion caused by excessive heat that occurs during the welding process. Compatible with MIG, TIG and Arc welding. The metal-etching primer will enhance adhesion and durability and is compatible with most top coats.
I was excited to use this aerosol primer, but I found the gray color didn’t match what I expected. It looked more like a dull shade when it dried. It worked okay, but I might try a different brand next time. Just a bit disappointed in the color accuracy.

Covers well but spray nozzle could be better
I like how this primer goes on smoothly and covers rusted areas well. However, the spray nozzle tends to clog sometimes, which can be a bit annoying during longer jobs. Still, it’s a solid product for the price.

Decent product but delivery took forever
The primer itself works fine for my projects, but the shipping took longer than expected. It arrived well-packaged, but I was hoping to start my work sooner. The 12-pack is a good value though, so that helped me feel better about the wait.
